Boxer Acquitted of Murder In 2010, Charged With Beating Over 4th of July Weekend


A professional boxer who made headlines five years ago when he was acquitted of murder has been arrested in connection with a beating over the Fourth of July weekend.

Semajay Thomas, 22, was charged with battery and mob action after police say he punched a 22-year-old man in the mouth, knocking out some of his teeth, and also hit a 55-year-old man.

His was set at $350,000 bail July 7th and was still listed as an inmate at Cook County Jail as of Tuesday morning.
